题目1:The utility of analysis of total exon sequence of volunteers
报告人:C. Thomas Caskey, M.D., F.A.C.P.
Professor, Molecular & Human Genetics,
Elected Member of National Academy of Sciences
Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, USA
题目2:The use of chromosomal microarray analysis and exome sequencing in genetic diagnosis
报告人:Arthur L. Beaudet, M.D.
Henry and Emma Meyer Chair in Molecular Genetics
Elected Member of National Academy of Sciences
Professor, Department of Molecular and Human Genetics, USA
Prof. C. Thomas Caskey and Prof. Arthur L. Beaudet are elected member of National Academy of Sciences. They are well known for identifying genetic basis of many major inheritable diseases (such as Fragile X, myotonic dystrophy, autism, schizophrenia and others). They serve as editor for a lot of important journals such as Science, Circulation, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Dr. Caskey is also the current editor-in-chief for the Annual Review of Medicine. Besides research, they also did a lot of transitional works. Dr. Caskey previously served as Senior Vice President, Human Genetics and Vaccines Discovery at Merck Research Laboratories and as President of the Merck Genome Research Institute, and his personal identification patent is the basis of worldwide application for forensic science. Dr. Beaudet was the first in the US to introduce array comparative genomic hybridization (array CGH) into the clinical lab, and thus has played a leadership role in the transformative impact of this technology on clinical genetics.
