In the 89th Lecture of the "Career and Life" Series, Liu Cheng, the founder, chairman, and CEO of a prominent bioscience enterprise, recounted his odyssey in pursuit of his dream to vanquish cancer. Liu reminisced about his college years and the arduous hurdles he surmounted to launch his company, which has evolved from a fledgling startup into a major force in the bioscience arena. He expounded on his two-pronged strategy for combating cancer: detection and eradication. Back in 2016, Liu's team unearthed a more precise approach to cancer cell detection by scrutinizing cellular constituents. It also achieved a milestone in cancer treatment by successfully enhancing the efficacy of CAR-T therapy for eliminating cancer cells, even accomplishing the first-ever cure of a liver cancer patient. His inspiring discourse spurred students to pose questions and express their perspectives regarding bioscience career paths. The event culminated with Professor Pan commending the students for their enthusiastic participation and active involvement.
