Abstract:

Human gut microbiome plays an important role throughout our life. It effects on the development and function of the immune system. Immunotherapy has become a promising new method for treating cancer these years. However, this therapy has shown variable efficacy on different patients. Recent studies have linked this difference to gut microbiome. Different people have different gut microbiome composition, and therefore differ in immunotherapy efficacy. These findings provide possible future directions for improving immunotherapy efficacy – by having the “right” bacteria in our gut.
