Abstract:
RNA has irreplaceable and diverse roles in organisms, but molecular tools to manipulate and measure it are limited. With the development of CRISPR/Cas system, scientists begin to dig into its potentiality of targeting RNA, besides its well-known function of DNA-targeting. In this lecture, we will focus on the recently developed RNA-guided RNA-targeting CRISPR-Cas13 system, mainly highlighting on its features, advantages and applications.
